We did not inherit the environment from our parents, we have borrowed it from our children. By May 20th we will have tried to learn what many things CWW members and their families are doing to do less harm to our planet . . . some of these are interesting; some may save money; some may not work, but we do them anyway! We hope to have local examples as well as explanations of hybrid cars, geothermal heating and cooling, solar panels, power-saving light bulbs, recycling, etc.

Richard Weeder, M.D.

Author of Recently Published "The Key to Cancer"
He explains that cancer is not the cause of illness but rather a lapse in the complex mechanisms of immunity, endegy and spirit that ordinarily protect us. He is a cancer surgeon and cancer patient who has long been interested in complementary and alternative health care and “a panoramic view of cancer treatment.” Formerly director of the division of general surgery at Hunterdon Medical Center, his is a perspective on complementary medicine that you won't often hear from oncological surgeons with his credentials.. Margaret Lancefield, M.D., Ph.D.

Favorite physician of many members of CWW until she recently gave up her private practice to become a full-time hospitalist, Dr. Lancefield was especially appreciated by her patients for an ability to listen to her patients, and to hear what they had to say. We have asked Dr. Lancefield to help us understand how we might better communicate with physicians, so that they might be better able to care for us.

Mimi Schwartz
Good Neighbors, Bad Times
Echoes of My Father’s German Village

Mimi Schwartz will read from her new book. Those of us who heard Mimi at Barnes and Noble are eager to come back. A beautiful and moving story. Mimi quotes her father, “before Hitler, everyone got along”. . . It was after she heard a remarkable story of the Torah from that very village being rescued by Christians on Kristallnacht that Mimi gradually became compelled to pursue the clues and names left by her father, to travel to that village, to meet, be welcomed by and interview the Christian families who remained, and travel elsewhere to meet Jews who had fled.
